Ross Woodstock - 1999
Ross Woodstock is Vice President and General Manager at WLNS Newscenter 6. He began his career as a radio announcer in 1975 and advanced into television in 1981. During his tenure, WLNS has become a number one rated local television news station widely recognized for its special programming such as town hall meetings on important community issues, political debates, and the annual MDA telethon. Mr. Woodstock serves on the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He has also served on the original boards for the Michigan Festival and Share Mid-Michigan projects as well as spent many years involved in youth sports. A past chairman of the Okemos Education Foundation board, Ross brought focus, organization, and fundraising to the group. Under his leadership, the foundation’s Endowment Fund was established. Through this fund, the lives of many students will be enhanced for years to come. Ross continues his support of the schools and community with time and energy focused on enriching the lives of others. Ross and his wife, Sharen, recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary. They are Okemos residents who have two children. Son Michael is in college and daughter Nicole attends Okemos High School.
