John Bjorkquist Alumni Science Fund
enhancing science and technology instruction for all Okemos students
The Okemos Alumni Association has generously committed $10,000 as a leadership gift to establish a new Okemos Education Foundation fund to benefit science education in the Okemos Public Schools. Named in honor of former Okemos High School teacher John Bjorkquist, the John Bjorkquist Alumni Science Fund is now accepting donations, which will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000 by the Alumni Association. These funds will be used to enhance science and technology education for all Okemos students. This fund was inspired by the energy and excitement surrounding Okemos alumnus Tom Yunck’s fall 2017 visit to OHS science classes and was announced at the 2017 Okemos Education Foundation Awards Banquet.
Contributions to the John Bjorkquist Alumni Science Fund are gratefully accepted in any amount. The Okemos Alumni Association will match all gifts up to a total of $10,000, providing much-needed additional funding for science and technology instruction in the Okemos Public Schools. Donations of $50 and more, made to the Okemos Education Foundation, are recognized according to the OEF's donor recognition levels. To donate, visit the OEF's Donation Page.
