Get Involved!

OEF window decalWhether you are a parent, homeowner, business owner, or alumni,  we are all stake-holders in preserving the educational opportunities available to Okemos students.  It's up to all of us.  And, it will take all of us working together to keep Okemos schools strong.  Luckily, there are many ways that you can get involved in promoting the Strategic Fund campaign!

If you have an idea to help publicize our campaign, or wish to volunteer to help with the campaign directly, please let us know using our
contact form!

Parents:

  • A high-quality education is absolutely critical to our children's future.  As parents, can we really afford NOT to support our schools?   Make a tax-deductible donation, and encourage other parents, friends, and neighbors to also support the campaign!
  • Publicize the Strategic Fund campaign by displaying an OEF decal on your vehicle.  Talk to other parents at your child's school activities about why you support the Strategic Fund.

Homeowners:

  • Most of us moved to Okemos because of the great schools, and it is no surprise that the value of our homes is dependent on maintaining our schools' excellence.   Making a tax-deductible donation to the OEF to keep Okemos schools strong will protect your home's value more than any possible home improvement you may be considering!
  • Talk to your neighbors about the campaign.  If your neighborhood association has an email listserv, find out if they would be willing to send out a link to our website.

Businesses:

  • The Okemos community is largely defined by its schools.  Keeping Okemos schools strong by making a tax-deductible donation simply makes good business sense!
  • Display our OEF window decal and/or distribute Strategic Fund literature at your place of business.
  • We would love for you to be our partner, and the OEF provides recognition for our supporters in many ways.  For Bronze Partners (donations over $250), we will even link to your business website.

Alumni:

  •  Consider how well an Okemos education has served you in your life, and pay it forward!  Make a donation to honor a special teacher, mentor, or friend, and help ensure that future Okemos grads have the same opportunities in school that you had.  For example, did you know that most clubs have already been cut at Okemos High School (starting 2009-10)? With your help, we can bring them back!
  • Encourage fellow Okemos graduates to do their part to help keep Okemos schools strong.  Join our facebook page and spread the word!
