Commitment to Excellence Recognition Banquet tickets available

Tickets for the 2006 Okemos Education Foundation (OEF) Commitment to Excellence Recognition Awards banquet, which will be held Thursday, November 16, are now available at all Okemos schools or by contacting Cindy LeVine at 517-655-6307. The tickets, on sale through Nov. 6, are $30 for adults and $12 for children 12 and younger.

The event, at the Kellogg Center at Michigan State University, begins at 6 p.m. with a social hour. The dinner and program will start at 7 p.m.

Six educators and administrators will be recognized with the 2006 Commitment to Excellence Educator Awards for their outstanding ability to inspire and motivate students, implement innovative and/or creative ideas, promote the welfare of students, and provide leadership within the school community.

In addition, the OEF will recognize two people with Special Recognition Awards and another person will be honored with an Alumni Award.

OEF was founded in 1984. It is a non-profit organization whose mission is: Recognizing excellence and promoting innovation in Okemos Public Schools. In addition to the annual awards, it provides grants and is building an endowment.
