To Honor 'Founders' At Special Event
The Okemos Education Foundation (OEF) will recognize the 2004 and 2005 “Founders” during a special ceremony at 6:30 p.m. March 4 at Okemos High School. Founders are individuals, families and businesses that have donated $1,000 or more to OEF.
OEF trustees will join founders for a short ceremony and brief remarks outside the auditorium at Okemos High School where the OEF Founders Plaque is located. Nearly 60 new Founders’ names have been added to the plaque.
“We want to recognize the extraordinary generosity of so many people,” said Kathy Schalter, OEF president. “Their contributions have helped the district through tough budget times and allowed OEF to continue to provide grants to teachers for programs that enrich classroom learning.”
Following the remarks, the group is invited to enjoy refreshments prior to the start of the Okemos Fine Arts Festival Collage Concert, which begins at 8 p.m. at the high school.
