BUSINESSES GET BEHIND "OKEMOS CARES"

Two popular Okemos businesses have scheduled events to help the Okemos Education Foundation's "Okemos Cares" school fundraising campaign.

For the second straight year, Schuler Books' Meridian Mall location is offering to donate 20% of its sales to the cause if customers mention "Okemos Cares." and the popular book and music retailer is expanding the opportunity to a full week, from this Sunday, May 30th through Saturday, June 5th.

Also, Culver's Restaurant, 5140 Times Square Drive, will earmark 10% of its sales as contributions if patrons mention "Okemos Cares." The incentive runs Monday, June 7th and Tuesday, June 8th from 3:30 to 10:00 PM

Last Year, "Okemos Cares" raised $236,000 which saved a variety of classes, teachers and programs slated for elimination. The initiative runs through June 15th.
