Meg Janssens, 2006 Special Recognition Award Recipient

Meg Janssens is the Library Media Center Specialist at Central Elementary School. Meg began working in the library at Central School in 1990 and has been a member of various school committees including the School Improvement Team. Currently she is a member of the School Technology Committee.

Meg earned a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University. She has been active in the community serving as deacon in her church and a board member of two non-profit groups, the Michigan Animal Health Foundation and the Greater Lansing Tennis Patrons.

Long-time Okemos residents, Meg and her husband John are the parents of two children who attended the Okemos Public Schools from kindergarten through high school graduation. The Janssens family is grateful for the education their children received in the Okemos schools. John and Meg enjoy time spent with their family which now includes a granddaughter.
