Call for Nominations 2009 Okemos Education Foundation Awards Program

The purpose of the Okemos Education Foundation's Award Program is to recognize exceptional and notable service within the Okemos Public Schools. Recipients and nominees of these awards will be recognized during the annual OEF Awards Banquet on November 19, 2009.

The Commitment to Excellence Award honors educators and administrators selected for their outstanding ability to:
• Inspire and motivate students
• Promote the welfare of students
• Implement innovative and/or creative ideas
• Provide leadership within the school community

The Special Recognition Award honors support staff employed by the district who embody a commitment to excellence and have a significant positive impact on students, staff and/or the school community. Individuals who are ineligible for the Commitment to Excellence Award may be nominated.

The Volunteer Service Award (new for 2009) honors individuals who have a significant positive impact on students, staff, and/or the school community through their extraordinary volunteer service.

The Alumni Award honors an alumnus of Okemos Public Schools who demonstrates exceptional dedication and achievement as well as humanitarian contributions.

Parents, community members, and school personnel are encouraged to submit names for consideration. Nomination forms with instructions, along with the criteria for each award, are available on the Okemos Education Foundation website (oefsite.org). Nomination forms are also available at each school office.
