Judith Wenzel, 2007 Special Recognition Award Recipient

Judith WenzelJudith Wenzel began her journey with Okemos Public Schools as a volunteer at Wardcliff School in 1975. She worked in the LMC and also in the classroom of each of her sons. As a member of the PTO, she spent many hours at the school.

Judith then started as a substitute for the secretarial staff. She worked three months temporarily with the Personnel office, and was later hired "permanently" with Okemos Community Education until her retirement on March 31, 2007. Judith believes Community Education has many opportunities to offer our community. She enjoyed working with and getting to know all its clients and staff.

Judith and her late husband, John, were members of the Athletic Boosters, Okemos Baseball Club, OAKS, and served on several school committees. Their three sons graduated from Okemos High School and are now living in the area. Judith also has a daughter-in-law who graduated from Okemos High School and two loving grandchildren.
