Sue Cobbett, 2007 Special Recognition Award Recipient
Sue Cobbett has been the K.E.E.P (Kindergarten Extended Enrichment Program) Director at Central Elementary School since 1999 and has been with Okemos Community Education Programs for the past thirteen years. Her goal is to provide a safe and fun filled environment where her students can grow socially, emotionally and academically. She is a member of MAEYC (Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children).Sue graduated from St. Andrew's University in Scotland with a degree in French and Psychology and she and her husband, Peter, moved to the United States in 1988. They decided that Okemos was a wonderful place to raise their three children who are now all OHS graduates.
Outside of school, Sue keeps busy in her church, serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. She is a former member of the Okemos Music Patron's board and spent nine years as an active member of the OHS Band Boosters. Her hobbies include water aerobics, reading, travel, watching basketball and spending time with family.
