Dean Bolton

Dean Bolton, a native of Houston, Texas, graduated from Northwestern University and worked in theatrical lighting and stage management in Chicago, IL for 12 years. After owning a Wild Birds Unlimited franchise in suburban Chicago for five years, Dean and his family moved to Okemos in 1999. Currently a stay-at-home dad, the best job he has ever had, he has been lucky enough to volunteer at his two sons’ schools, Central Elementary, Kinawa, Chippewa and Okemos High School. He has served on the Citizen’s Millage Committee for the district’s 2007 Technology and Transportation Bond and co-chaired the committee for the 2011 Building Site and Sinking Fund millage renewal. He served as an OEF Trustee from 2007-2016 and was the Board Chair from 2008-2014. He was elected to the Okemos Board of Education in 2014. Dean’s wife, Helen Taylor, is the Director of the Michigan Chapter of The Nature Conservancy.
